Yogalates is a movement practice that combines yoga and pilates.

Yoga is a practice that originates from India. Yoga uses physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to connect the body, breath, and mind, improving flexibility, strength, and overall well-being.

Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. It is a practice that focuses on building strength, flexibility, and control in the body through precise movements targeting the deep muscles of the body.

Both practices have been shown to improve strength, flexibility, balance, posture, and overall body awareness. Combined they are magic!

This course is designed for beginners to yoga and pilates. It is carefully structured and targets specific areas that are central to athletic performance & active lifestyles such as mobility in the hips, and shoulders; core and back strength; and balance.

Expect mindful movement with breath. Mindful movement creates the space for an athlete to become aware of their body, keeping it strong and injury-free. Practicing mindfulness as you move also helps to develop mental readiness for competition.

Courses are suitable for athletes of all levels, from beginners to advanced in all sports, including but not limited to running, cycling, swimming, triathlon, hiking, hurling and camoige, soccer, rugby. If you move, this is for you.

About me

My name is Ciara Bradley. I discovered yoga more than 20 years ago. Since then, I have practiced many styles of yoga including traditional hatha yoga, Mysore Ashtanga yoga, and Bikram yoga.

In 2009, I trained in India in traditional hatha yoga. In 2012, I continued my training in movement with an Advanced Diploma in Pilates Matwork.

I am also an enthusiastic athlete. I came to sport later in life taking up running when I was 35 and triathlon at 37.

I was age-group National Champion in Duathlon in 2021, 2022 and 2023. I have represented Ireland as an age-group athlete in Duathlon & Triathlon four times with my best result being 5th in my age group in the World Championships in Targu Mures, Romania in 2022. I also completed Ironman Vitoria Gatiez in Spain in 2019 coming 7th in my age group in 12 hours 11 minutes.

Yoga and pilates are part of my training and help me to stay flexible, mobile and recover. For me, yogalates is about the balance between strength and flexibility, exertion, and release. So, my classes combine both strength and mobility work with flow and balance. Expect mindful movement with breath.
